Our industry standard pre-cut corner soft sleeves solve the biggest problem when sleeving trading cards: nicking card corners. Pre-cut corners are small angled cuts at the opening of the sleeve that help guide the card in more smoothly and significantly lower the chance of catching or dinging the corners.

Penny sleeves are thin, flexible plastic sleeves made from polypropylene film. They cost roughly one cent each — hence the name — and are the very first thing a trading card should go into after you pull it from a pack. They're the most basic and most essential form of card protection in the hobby.

A standard penny sleeve measures approximately 2 5/8" x 3 5/8" (67mm x 92mm), which gives just enough room to slide a standard 2.5" x 3.5" trading card in without forcing it. The sleeve is open at the top and sealed on the other three sides. You insert the card top-edge first, and the sleeve sits loosely around it — snug enough to stay in place, loose enough that you can remove the card without bending or catching the corners.

Penny sleeves are considered consumable supplies. At roughly a penny each, most collectors buy them in bulk packs of 100 or more and go through thousands over the life of their collection. They're lightweight, stackable, and take up almost no extra space — there's no reason not to sleeve every card you intend to keep.

Yes — this is the single most important step you cannot skip. A toploader alone lets your card rattle against the inside plastic walls during handling and shipping. Every time it moves, that's a micro-scratch risk. A penny sleeve creates a barrier between card and plastic. The combination of penny sleeve + toploader is the industry-standard minimum for any card worth protecting. For PSA and BGS submissions, an inner sleeve is standard practice.

Yes. Easy Glide uses 50-micron polypropylene — about 25% thicker than the 'standard' sleeves. The thicker material feels great in your hand and will be noticeable when you're sleeving a large batch — cheaper sleeves feel thin and crinkle easily; Easy Glide sleeves have real substance to them.

Yes — that's the primary use case. A standard trading card slipped into a penny sleeve fits inside a toploader without issue. Easy Glide sleeves are designed specifically to work with Card Shellz toploaders, but they fit Ultra Pro, BCW, and other standard toploaders as well. If you're using thick toploaders (130PT+) for relics or memorabilia cards, use our thick card penny sleeve to accommodate the thicker card stock.

Yes. PSA and BGS accept cards in penny sleeves and is generally recommended to protect the surface finish of the card. Use a single penny sleeve, no double-sleeving for submissions. If you are submitting for grading in a toploader, use an Easy Glide Extra-Tall submission sleeves because they stick out of the toploader slightyl for easy card removal.

They're the same thing. "Penny sleeve" is the informal collector term; "soft sleeve" is the more technical name for the same product. Both refer to thin, flexible polypropylene sleeves used as an inner layer of protection. You may also see them called "inner sleeves" when used inside a toploader or binder page.
